from October 03rd to 17th, 2024
The initiative, which explores the concept of cities on a human scale and neighbourhoods accessible within a few minutes' walk, is an invitation to reflect on the future of our cities and how proximity can be the key to more sustainable urban development.
In addition to the exhibition, several side activities on the theme of sustainability and urbanisation are planned. On 5 October, a walk along the river will be held in Maglio, Piano della Stampa, offering food for thought for the future of the area. On 14 October, a walk through the district of Viganello will be organised, followed by an open discussion with the curator of the exhibition, Sibylle Wälty, and Monique Bosco-von Allmen, president of CASSI, the association of housing cooperatives in Italian-speaking Switzerland. This dialogue will provide an in-depth look at issues related to urban design and the creation of inclusive and sustainable living spaces.
The exhibition has already been hosted at the Mendrisio Campus from 13 to 27 September 2024, where a discussion was held on the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow's cities.
