from March 01st to 2nd, 2024
After the success of the first two editions, the festival MMC-Meet Music Code, dedicated to computer music and the converging relationships between electronic music, coding and digital art, will return in Ticino on Friday 1 March and Saturday 2 March, produced by OGGIMUSICA in collaboration with the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland, Lugano Musica and the SUPSI Department of Environment Constructions and Design (SUPSI Campus in Mendrisio).
Three concerts and four workshops will take place in different venues in Lugano (Conservatory of Italian Switzerland, Teatro Studio-LAC) and at the SUPSI Campus in Mendrisio, creating a moment of encounter between digital artists, musicians, researchers, designers, students and people passionate about computer music. An artistic and technical insight into the possible synergies between digital instruments, sound art, composition and computer programming.
The SUPSI Campus becomes a covered square illuminated by installations and light effects conceived and set up by a group of Bachelor of Arts students in Interior Design to give rhythm to the spaces and accompany the music.
The concert at the LAC is free for OGGIMUSICA members (membership card CHF 30), otherwise tickets are available on the LAC website.
Concerts at the SUPSI Campus in Mendrisio are free of charge.
The workshops are free for Conservatory and SUPSI students and for OGGIMUSICA members and associates. Places for the workshops are limited and must be reserved by writing to alberto.barberis@conservatorio.ch.
Meet Music Code is supported by Pro Helvetia, Swisslos, Lugano Musica and the City of Lugano.
