Educational project
METAmorfosi
SUPSI Image Focus
The project aims to translate and visually modernise classical texts, such as Ovid's Metamorphoses, through the use of new technologies.
The aim is to create a synergistic fusion between the textual content and the visual dimension, creatively combining both human and artificial intelligence. The art director, the AI writer (ChatGPT) and the AI photographer (Midjourney) will work closely together to produce a photographic book 'of mutated forms in new bodies', which will collect the best experiments made during the process.

The project arose from the observation of a discrepancy between the modernity of the themes dealt with in some classical literary works and the distance of their visual representation for a young audience.
It was decided to experiment with Ovid's Metamorphoses, using new technologies to make the work contemporary.
The aim was to explore the potential of new technologies in the field of visual communication by collecting and analysing the visual and textual experiments generated by these tools, thus creating a methodological model for bringing ancient texts up to date.
Questioning the possibility of a fruitful synergy between human and artificial intelligence, the project involves constant communication between the artistic director and the artificial intelligences, with three main phases: textual generation, visual generation and materialisation of the link.
The final result is presented in a photographic book entitled 'of mutated forms in new bodies', which collects the experiments of the project.
