Nebulo
SUPSI Image Focus
Nebulo reimagines pediatric asthma care through play, storytelling, and environmental sensing. It empowers children to manage their condition without overmedicalizing childhood, turning data into a tool for exploration, confidence, and autonomy.
Despite increasing awareness of pediatric asthma, many children still struggle to manage their condition independently, and caregivers often lack accessible tools or education to support them effectively.
How can we promote self-management without overmedicalizing childhood? How can data empower rather than create anxiety?
Nebulo is a portable object that reframes asthma care through the lenses of play, storytelling, and environmental analysis. Instead of relying on clinical routines, it encourages children to explore their surroundings, interpret signals, and build narratives that help them understand their bodies and environment. Nebulo envisions a near-future in which children become active agents in their health journeys, not through medicalized procedures, but through curiosity, adventure, and meaningful interaction with the world. By transforming data into a companion for discovery, Nebulo fosters confidence, autonomy, and a more human, child-centered approach to chronic care.
