A valuable opportunity to learn about training offers in the field of teaching, attend presentations, request information and collect course material.

The Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education (DFA/ASP) based in Locarno opens its doors on Saturday 20 January 2024 to all those interested in training to become a teacher at the various school levels.

Presentation time: 2.00-3.00 p.m., Aula Magna.

The Bachelor's degree courses in Pre-primary Education and Bachelor's degree courses in Primary Education prepare students to become teachers of boys and girls aged between 3 and 5 (pre-school) and of boys and girls aged between 6 and 10 (primary school). Courses are provided by the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education of SUPSI at its Locarno site.

Qualification obtained at the end of the course: Bachelor of Arts SUPSI in Insegnamento per il livello elementare (anni scolastici: 1-2) respectively Bachelor of Arts SUPSI in Insegnamento per il livello elementare (anni scolastici: 3-7).

The Master's degree course in Secondary Education prepares students to take on the role of teacher in one or two subjects at secondary school (middle school) to teach pupils aged 11 to 15. The course is provided by the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education of SUPSI at its Locarno site. 

For the academic year 2024/2025, enrolments are open for the following subjects: Physical Education, French, Geography, Italian, Latin, Mathematics, History and Civic Education, German.

Qualification obtained at the end of the course: Master of Arts SUPSI in Insegnamento per il livello secondario I.

The Master in Physical Education Teaching is intended exclusively for primary school teachers and prepares to take on the role of physical education teacher in secondary school (middle school) to teach pupils aged 11 to 15. 

Qualification obtained at the end of training: Master of Arts SUPSI in insegnamento per il livello secondario I disciplina educazione fisica (per docenti SE).

The Master's in Secondary Education and the Master's in Mathematics Secondary Education (for SUP engineers) prepare to take on the role of mathematics teacher in secondary school (middle school) to teach pupils aged 11 to 15. The courses are provided by the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education at the Locarno location, some lessons are provided by the Department of Innovative Technologies at the Viganello location.

Qualification obtained at the end of training: Master of Arts SUPSI in Insegnamento per il livello secondario I. Materia: Matematica respectively Master of Arts SUPSI in Insegnamento della matematica per il livello secondario I.

The Master's course in Specialised Pedagogy and Inclusive Didactics prepares to take on the role of teacher of pupils with Special Educational Needs (BES) in reduced, inclusive or regular classes. The course is delivered by the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education in Locarno.

Title obtained at the end of training: Master of Arts SUPSI in Pedagogia specializzata e didattica inclusiva.

The Diploma Upper Secondary Education prepares to take on the role of teacher in secondary schools (Licei and Scuola Cantonale di Commercio) in the subject chosen to work with students aged 15 to 19. The course is provided by the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education in Locarno.

For the academic year 2024/2025, enrolments are open for the following subjects: Biology, German, Italian.

Title obtained at the end of the course: Diploma di insegnamento per le scuole di maturità.
