April 26th, 2026
from 10:00 to 17:00
"Sagra delle erbacce" returns for its 5th edition. The idea originated from a project by a group of students on the Bachelor of Science in Social Work and has been brought to fruition thanks to the collaboration of numerous organisations, in particular the Meride Neighbourhood Committee and the Meride Insieme Association.
"Sagra delle erbacce" – which will take place in Meride for the fifth consecutive year – will be held on Sunday 26 April from 10.00 am, with the aim of rediscovering and/or learning about the opportunities the local area has to offer, promoting social cohesion and sustainability.
The village of Meride will welcome participants to its public spaces, where a variety of events and activities for adults and children will be on offer, including courtyard activities, stalls and workshops, guided walks to discover wild herbs, musical and theatrical entertainment, and much more. For the occasion, the neighbourhood’s public venues will offer an interesting culinary selection; among the various specialities, Meret Bissegger and Mariangela Marchesi will be cooking the famous ‘Erbozz’.
The detailed programme for the festival can be found in the attachment and on Instagram @sagradelleerbacce.
The event will end at 5.00 pm with live music in the square.

Why ‘Sagra delle erbacce'?
The choice of theme stems from the idea that weeds are all around us – uncultivated plants that grow wild and whose properties we often overlook. Social change often behaves in the same way: it appears without warning, claiming the space that is rightfully its own, and, upon closer inspection, we discover that it harbours fewer pitfalls and offers more opportunities than we might think. Students on the Social Work course are actively involved in organising this festival, putting into practice what they have learnt in the earlier stages of the ‘Active Citizenship’ module.
