from 14.00 to 17.30
The Toolkit for Educating to a Dynamic Citizenship (TEDYC) project is an international research initiative co-funded by Movetia in the framework of the International Programme that involves the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education (DFA/ASP) of SUPSI, the Institute of Argumentation, Linguistics and Semiotics (IALS) of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and planpolitik, a Berlin-based company specialised in the creation of didactic games.
The aim of the project is to create a toolkit containing didactic simulations aimed at fostering the development of critical thinking skills, argumentative dialogue and decentralisation. All within the framework of civic, citizenship and democracy education and the transversal competence of personal development in the Ticino compulsory school curriculum.
An initial version of the teaching simulations was tested in seven secondary I and three secondary II classes in Ticino. The testing phase was accompanied by questionnaires for pupils and teachers of the classes involved, interviews with the teachers and focus groups with the classes. These tools made it possible to gather information on the positive aspects and, above all, on those to be improved of the tested version.
During the meeting, which is also open to the public, the TEDYC project team will present the planned simulations in the refined version, alternating interactive methods with didactic-pedagogical insights, based on the indications that emerged from the test phase.
