Alessandro Airaldi
A winning training choice
SUPSI Image Focus
Alessandro is President, Vice-Director and Head of Fiduciaria GFP mediconsul Ticino SA. He attended the MAS in Tax Law to consolidate his profile by acquiring more skills in the tax and regulatory fields.
Why did you choose MAS Tax Law?
I was looking for a specialisation course that could provide a solid approach in the tax field, with a cross-disciplinary focus on the main topics concerning the fiduciary activity for which, until then, I had taken an experience-based approach. The SUPSI training programme, in terms of quality and the possibility of being combined with work, was the winning choice.
How would you define your study experience?
It was like gaining an additional academic qualification and, in a way, it allowed me to fill the gap left by the abandonment of the PhD programme that I didn’t complete a few years earlier. Returning to the desk for continuing education was not a foregone conclusion, especially with family and work commitments. As the modules were tackled, I increasingly appreciated the law-based approach and regulatory references that complemented my more numbers and accounting-oriented profile. Being able to draw on previous academic experience, exam preparation was not an issue for me. However, it was stimulating and adrenaline-pumping to be confronted with an evaluation of what I had learnt.
What did you appreciate most and why?
It was very enriching for me to have direct contact with the teachers and fellow students, with whom contacts are still strong today. The whole MAS Tax Law is very identifying for me and creates a sense of belonging for those who have attended it.
To whom would you recommend this training course?
In professional experience, it is common to find knowledge gaps both in terms of consultancy supply and demand on the part of professionals and companies in need of support for their activities. It is therefore essential that there are high-profile professionals who can competently guide those who work and contribute to enriching the local economic fabric. I would therefore recommend this course to those who aspire to improve and complete their training to a high standard.
What role has MAS Tax Law played in your growth as a professional?
Apart from supplementing my specific knowledge in fields where I had little, if any, prior knowledge, it has made me on the one hand a point of reference in the company I run, strengthening my position, and on the other hand a strong interlocutor for clients, colleagues and institutions with whom I have professional relationships in various capacities.
