Edoardo Giambra
Curiosity, Logic, and a Holistic View of the World
SUPSI Image Focus
Edoardo Giambra is 23 years old and lives in Como. Since he was a child, one trait has always defined him: curiosity. It’s what led him to ask questions, observe the world closely, and choose a technical path that combined theory, practice, and economics. Today, he is enrolled in the Master of Science in Engineering (MSE).
How has your perception of the programme evolved?
I was so curious that even in high school I would watch university lectures on YouTube on the subjects I knew I would one day study. My perception hasn’t changed much: I knew what to expect, and over the years I’ve developed a deeper approach while maintaining the same initial clarity.
Does your thesis address an innovative topic?
Yes. I worked with a small enterprise of ten people, introducing methodologies capable of identifying weaknesses and turning them into opportunities for improvement. My thesis presents three strategies to optimise time and costs by structuring a process that had previously been carried out without a clear method.
A particularly challenging moment?
During my first year, I sacrificed much of my personal life to dedicate myself fully to studying, achieving excellent results. In the second year, however, I realised that pace wasn’t sustainable. I strongly believe in study-life balance: studying is essential, but so is remembering that there is a world outside that deserves attention.
A piece of advice for those considering enrolling in your programme?
Do it only if you’re at least 95% sure. Otherwise, choose something you truly love.
