Precision Health Day 2026 - AI Enabled
SUPSI Article Header
March 27th, 2026
The event will explore how AI can support and promote a holistic approach to care — one that integrates interindividual variability related to behavioral, environmental, and genetic factors, with the goal of developing proactive, personalized, and patient-centered healthcare solutions.
Central to this approach is the application of AI across various domains of prevention, prognosis, diagnosis, and therapy, with advances in:
- Data science and machine learning for clinical decision support
- AI-powered medical devices and robotics
- Intelligent biomedical sensors and advanced signal processing
- Automated analysis of medical images
- AI-based bioinformatics for genomic and molecular profiling
- Telemedicine and ubiquitous healthcare solutions leveraging predictive algorithms
The Swiss healthcare system, like those of most European countries, is facing increasingly complex challenges that threaten its long-term sustainability: rising healthcare costs, demographic changes, the growing prevalence of chronic diseases, and a shortage of professionals in the sector.
These factors exert significant pressure on both financial and human resources, making systemic reforms and a rethinking of care models essential. This requires a transition from the current hospital-centered approach to the strengthening of community-based care models, emphasizing the use of digital solutions and placing greater focus on preventive strategies.
Within this context, the Health2030 strategy, promoted by the Swiss Confederation, aims to strengthen coordinated outpatient care, accelerate the digital transformation of healthcare, and reinforce prevention as a cornerstone of public health.Against this backdrop, advances in artificial intelligence technologies and the growing availability of large-scale data from genetic, environmental, behavioral, and lifestyle sources represent strategic drivers for developing new approaches capable of addressing current and future healthcare challenges.
