from August 06th to 15th, 2026
For over a decade, the Movie&Media Labs (MoMe Labs) have been offering workshops to young and very young participants at the Locarno Film Festival, enabling them to explore the world of cinema and digital technologies in a critical and creative way.
The program for the youngest children (ages 6–8), following a well-established format, includes three one-day, hands-on workshops: stop-motion, comics, and an introduction to special effects. The six workshops for elementary and middle school students, each lasting three days, range from animation to coding, from radio to comics, and from news to a new offering on interactive books. Finally, the program for high school students has been updated with a screenwriting and film writing workshop.
All workshops will take place at the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education (DFA/ASP) and the PalaCinema. They will be led by a SUPSI staff member together with students from the Bachelor’s degree programs.
The Movie&Media Labs are part of the Locarno Kids la Mobiliare program and are designed and coordinated by the Laboratory media and MINT of the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education at SUPSI.
