Translating Sustainability: Strategies for a Value-Generating Economy

Sustainability is no longer a constraint but a shared language between business, research, and society. This workshop introduces tools to translate sustainability and circularity goals into concrete, measurable, and replicable strategies.
Industrial sustainability requires cross-disciplinary skills and approaches capable of generating value on multiple levels. The workshop provides an up-to-date and practical perspective on the challenges of the sustainable transition within production contexts. It will also be an opportunity to present SUPSI’s new Continuing Education program in Industrial Sustainability, designed for professionals and technicians who aim to turn circularity goals into actionable, replicable strategies across the entire value chain.
 
Program
  • 16:30–16:40 – Opening and introduction
    Institutional greetings, context of the initiative, and objectives of the workshop session.
     
  • 16:40–17:00 – Sustainability as a competitive lever
    From assessment to advisory: how to combine environmental and economic benefits. Industrial case studies and measurable results.
     
  • 17:00–18:00 – Interactive workshop: “From maturity to decision-making: assess, measure, improve”
    Participatory session with small group work and plenary discussion, aimed at sharing corporate experiences and discussing approaches to assessing and improving sustainability performance within participants’ organizations.
     
  • 18:05–18:30 – Presentation of the “Industrial Sustainability” pathway
    Brief presentation of the Continuing Education pathway in Industrial Sustainability, connection to the themes that emerged, conclusions, and next steps.
     
  • 18:30–19:30 – Apero and networking

The event is organized by the Continuing Education of the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI) and the Institute of Systems and Technologies for Sustainable Production (ISTePS) at SUPSI.

Registration is required via the online form by 19 January 2026.
