Thermo-fluid Dynamics Laboratoy - MEMTi
Laboratory of
Thermo-fluid Dynamics
The Laboratory conducts applied research in the fields of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and heat transfer, with special focus on topics related to energy storage, chemical processes, multiphase and reactive flows and energy optimization of industrial applications.
Starting from in-depth theoretical studies, and applying advanced simulation techniques, Laboratory researchers are capable of performing thermo-fluid dynamics analyses of industrial components and systems, supporting their development, and proactively participating in their optimization.
The main exploited techniques include the development and application of numerical models as well as other methods such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD), statistical approaches, and multi-objective optimization. The Laboratory has also the capabilities to build small experimental apparatus and to perform measurements on small-scale prototypes.
