The Conference “The protection of children exposed to domestic violence: challenges and prospects” is the result of a collaboration between SUPSI, Fondazione KidsToo and FaMo+ (Famiglie Monoparentali+), marking the conclusion of the SUPSI research project - ZHAW “Exposition des enfants à la violence dans le couple : une analyse des processus et des coûts dans le contexte de l’attribution de la garde et des droits de visite".
The event aims to provide a space for reflection and interdisciplinary exchange amongst professionals involved, at various levels, in the protection of children.
The programme includes a morning session dedicated to presenting the main findings of the study, which analysed a sample of 41 civil proceedings concerning children exposed to domestic violence in the cantons of St. Gallen, Ticino, Zurich and Vaud. This will be followed by sessions for reflection and the exchange of best practice, including the involvement of representatives from child support services operating in Ticino, French-speaking Switzerland and German-speaking Switzerland. Finally, a round-table discussion will bring together authorities and service providers to consider the insights gathered and possible solutions to the challenges posed by the protection of children exposed to violence.
