Application fee

When making an application within the deadline specified on www.supsi.ch, a fee payment of CHF 200.-. must be made online. This applies to applications to all Departments, except the ATD and the Departement Physiotherapie Graubünden di Landquart, whose regulations specify fees of different amounts.
Some degree courses allow applications to be made after the deadlines specified on www.supsi.ch. In these cases, the application fee is CHF 300.-.
The fee due for applications to more than one degree course in the same academic year is CHF 300.-.
Application fees are not reimbursable and cannot be deducted from the semester fees charged to students who have been admitted. Applications will be considered only if this fee has been paid.

*Applications may be made after the specified deadline, taking into consideration the conditions described above. Applications arriving after the specified deadlines may be accepted, depending on the remaining availability.

SUPSI reserves the right to close enrolments once the maximum number of scheduled available places has been reached.

SUPSI reserves the right to decide against running educational courses or study programmes if enrolment numbers are insufficient.

Activities involving the verification of admission requirements, the organisation of admission or competitive examinations, and admission "on dossier" (recognition of prior learning) are conducted by the Departments, under the supervision of the SUPSI Executive.

Due to organisational reasons, the Department of Formation and Learning (DFA) will be unable to accept applications arriving after the deadline specified above.

Given the limited number of places available, applicants to the Bachelor in Leisure Management (DEASS) degree course must take ranking examinations, which will be on 13 May 2023.

In view of the limited number of places available on the Health Sciences and Social Work Bachelor’s degree courses, examinations will be held ordering applicants in order of merit. The ranking examination date is 4 May 2023.

Students from the Scuola Specializzata per le Professioni Sanitarie e Sociali (SSPSS) may take the admission examination only during the final year of their school education. Those who pass this competitive examination will then be able to begin the three-year university programme in the September of the year in which they are awarded their specialist health or social care school leaving certificate.

Applicants to Health Sciences Bachelor’s courses, who have passed the examinations ordering applicants in order of merit, but who have not yet completed the pre-course work experience period, will be eligible to begin their studies in academic year 2024/2025.

For the Physiotherapie Graubünden course in Landquart, the ranking examinations consist of a written examination on 29 April 2023 and the submission of an e-portfolio by 8 May 2023.

Applications to degree courses conducted by the Scuola universitaria di Musica del Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana (SUM-CSI) and by the Fernfachhochschule Schweiz (FFHS) follow different procedures. Applicants from other Countries (non-EU/EFTA)

Applicants from other Countries (non EU-EFTA) must first undergo preliminary checks regarding their eligibility for the course, and pass any competitive and/or ability examinations that may be required. Admission then depends on a permit of stay being issued by the appropriate Cantonal and Federal Authorities.

Foreigners who are required to obtain a visa must schedule an appointment to deposit their application at the Swiss representation office abroad that has jurisdiction for their place of domicile. This application must be accompanied by a valid passport and by further documentation testifying the reason for the journey, as specified in the list that, once matriculation has been confirmed, will be provided by the SUPSI International Office (international@supsi.ch).

For administrative reasons, admission applications must be made by 15 April 2023, while Visa applications, together with the required documents, must first be checked by the International Office, and then deposited at the Embassy, by 30 June 2023, in order to ensure that authorisation arrives in time before the start of the academic year (in some cases approval can take up to 3 months).

Following their arrival in Switzerland, extra-EU/EFTA students will have 2 weeks to formalize their arrival in the country, by forwarding their Residency Permit applications and notifying the appropriate authorities of their arrival.

Matriculation is completed provisionally until the applicant presents a copy of the residence certificate obtained, and becomes final only once this document has been received by SUPSI.

Applicants who must sit selection examinations significantly in advance of the start of their courses will usually receive short-term entry visas for study purposes, issued by the Swiss Consular representation abroad, in order to sit these examinations.
