In 2026, Iride celebrates two significant milestones: its tenth anniversary and the publication in May of its twentieth issue, which addresses the crucial topic of demography.
Rather than a sprinter, Iride is a "marathon runner" that has managed to maintain high standards of aesthetic and content quality from 2016 to the present day, thanks to internal and international collaborations. This anniversary is an opportunity to thank those who have made the project possible: the editor-in-chief Elena Gerosa, the DEASS communications manager Antonio Amendola and the DACD Design Institute, which has been responsible for the magazine’s layout for the past ten years; special thanks also go to the President of SUPSI, Giovanni Merlini, for writing the editorial for this anniversary issue, and to all the colleagues who have contributed as authors of the articles.
Looking ahead, we wish to reaffirm our commitment to developing the journal as a premier platform for dialogue and thought, confident that in a complex and challenging world like ours, it is essential that the development of human thought and new narratives should not be left solely to artificial intelligence.
The publication is enriched by an interview with Professor Telmo Pievani, one of the most authoritative voices in Italian science communication, as well as by contributions by Professor Jenny Trinitapoli of the University of Chicago and by Danilo Bruno and Matteo Borioli of the Ticino Cantonal Statistics Office.
