DynaMat SUPSI Laboratory
DynaMat SUPSI Laboratory
DynaMat SUPSI Laboratory is an inter-departmental center that specializes in the study of dynamic behavior of materials and structures, both experimentally and numerically. The laboratory has been included in the federal government's roadmap for national research infrastructure since 2017.
Further information about the DynaMat SUPSI Laboratory is available by visiting the dedicated website.
Knowledge of material behaviour at high strain rates is crucial for the design and evaluation of structures subject to impulsive events such as impacts or explosions.
Study of the dynamic behavior of construction materials to ensure their strength and safety under extreme conditions (impact and explosion).
Transport safety
Characterization of materials (metals, polymers, composites) for the design and certification of light, safe, and sustainable means of transport.
Critical infrastructure safety
Analysis of the mechanical response of critical infrastructure materials subjected to extreme loads in order to design and verify safer infrastructure.
Knowledge of material behaviour at high strain rates is crucial for the design and evaluation of structures subject to impulsive events such as impacts or explosions.
Research
The SUPSI DynaMat Laboratory develops research on materials and structures subjected to dynamic-impulsive loads.
Transfer
The SUPSI DynaMat Laboratory actively works to foster technology transfer in collaboration with national and international industries/bodies.
Design
The SUPSI DynaMat Laboratory aims to disseminate an integrated approach to design and testing to improve product safety and quality.
Mission and goals
This laboratory provides multidisciplinary collaboration to address and resolve complex problems, such as those related to the response of materials to dynamic transients. The mission is to involve and attract young talents by providing them with a research infrastructure of excellence.
Our agenda
The SUPSI DynaMat Laboratory is based at the SUPSI Campus in Mendrisio.
