Born from a collaboration between the Parco delle Gole della Breggia and the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education at SUPSI, the ‘Fiume Spazio Tempo’ project aims to promote the Parco delle Gole della Breggia from an educational perspective, highlighting its geological, historical and heritage aspects of national and international importance.
Through diverse and innovative tools, participatory mapping, narrative podcasts, multimedia storytelling, workshops and educational trails, the project aims to raise awareness of the Park's heritage and educate people about the meaning of place through engaging and immersive experiences.
The research work carried out in this first phase has so far produced two unpublished publications, a handbook and a podcast.
The Breggia Gorge Park handbook
Designed as a guide to the scientific and cultural content of the Park, the handbook accompanies readers through its rich geological and historical-industrial heritage, relating the environmental and cultural impact of humans to the dynamics of the natural kingdoms that inhabit this space. It is an invitation to explore the Park in a more conscious way, but also to feel a sense of belonging to the place, to recognise its value and sense of belonging.
Il Lithomante. Geological audio memories
The original narrative podcast translates geological memories into sound testimonies thanks to an imaginary and mysterious device. In six episodes (“auscultations”), each dedicated to an area of the Park, the great geological changes, legends, voices of the inhabitants and those of the non-human kingdom are recounted: the river, the animals and the echo of time itself.
The digital version of the handbook and the Lithomante podcast are available on the project's official website: www.fiumespaziotempo.ch
Listening Party
Il Lithomante will also be the subject of a public listening session, scheduled for 4 March 2026 at 8:30 p.m. in the evocative spaces of the Torre dei Forni of the former SACEBA cement factory. The listening party will conclude with a live coding performance using sounds recorded in the Park and manipulated in real time.
