The CROCSIT project, launched in 2025, aims primarily to improve the efficiency of cross-border labor management between Italy and Switzerland in various legal areas of great practical significance, particularly in the fields of taxation, social security, and immigration. This phenomenon represents a key aspect of the economy in the Italy-Switzerland border area, specifically concerning the Canton of Ticino and Lombardy, with a particular focus on the Insubric region.
The legal framework applicable to cross-border labor in its various facets is complex and often uncertain. For this reason, CROCSIT aims to bilaterally identify the major issues arising in the three key areas (taxation, social security, and immigration), exploring them further through a dedicated series of seminars designed to contribute to the training of stakeholders (officials, HR personnel, consultants, trade unions, professional associations, etc.) in order to reduce and/or eliminate these legal obstacles. Additionally, and for the same purpose, CROCSIT intends to develop an open-access digital platform available to users, gathering informative materials, FAQs, and best practices.
The first inaugural event, where the project will be presented by the partnership, will take place in March.
