Educational project
Ball contraption
SUPSI Image Focus
In the Contraption workshop, students are called upon to challenge their creativity in the creation of a course inspired by the theme of 'ball contraption' in which the mechanisms devised and produced will be observed through the lenses of the management engineer, the structural engineer, the technician and the programmer.
The project aims at the realisation of a cross-degree experiential workshop in which the themes and theoretical skills developed throughout the degree course are brought together.
The workshop aims at the creation of a course inspired by the theme of "contraption" in which the mechanisms conceived and realised are observed through the lenses of management, structural, mechanical and computer engineering.
In this way, students can cultivate, and set in a deliberately playful and challenging environment, the skills they will later be called upon to use in professional environments.
Beginning with the elements of theory underlying engineering, the laboratory allows us to touch on aspects and problems of a design/production type in order to integrate them into themes linked to the world of digitalisation (Industry 4.0). The lab is thus developed through 8 courses positioned in successive semesters (spread over the three bachelor's years), thus emphasising the significance of the entire engineering management curriculum, i.e. by highlighting the links between seemingly distant subjects, and at the same time promoting collaboration between students from successive years and different departments.
