The SUPSI teaching awards ceremony was attended by SUPSI Director General Franco Gervasoni and Director of Basic Education Daniela Willi-Piezzi. These awards, presented every two years on Education Day, aim to promote innovative teaching practices and the appropriate use of technology to enhance learning.
In particular, the SUPSI Teaching Innovation Award aims to recognise and reward the commitment of teachers in basic and continuing education and to promote the constant evolution and improvement of teaching practices within the institution. The SUPSI Technology and Training Award, established to honour the memory of Riccardo Mazza, a lecturer and researcher at SUPSI from 1999 to 2022, aims to recognise the work of lecturers who propose sequences of teaching activities in which technology plays a fundamental role in the educational success and well-being of students.
In this context, research plays a key role in developing innovative teaching methods, enabling ongoing dialogue between education and research and creating an environment in which students can grow thanks to constantly updated teaching practices.
Daniela Willi-Piezzi: "Teaching awards play a fundamental role in the constant development of the quality of our educational programmes, as they encourage the sharing of best practices within the institution and allow us to recognise the commitment of our teaching staff in proposing innovative educational tools, born from dialogue with scientific and professional communities and attention to the needs of students." .
The winning projects of the two awards stood out for their methodological innovation, the quality of their teaching methods and their impact on student learning.
