Design and process optimization for metal components produced by Additive Manufacturing
The Automation, Robotics and Machine Laboratory (ARM) provides its specialized expertise in Additive Manufacturing (AM) of industrial products, offering various services, including:
To support these services, the lab has 2 Directed Energy Deposition machines (3 and 5 axes), 1 Selective Laser Melting machine, several powder feeding solutions, and a wide range of tools dedicated to reverse engineering and high-precision metrology.
- the re-engineering of components, optimizing them for production via AM;
- the development of recipes and process strategies, optimized for new geometries and materials, through experimental and simulation campaigns;
- the verification of the quality of parts produced for AM;
- the development and integration of new processing, monitoring and control technologies into existing machines;
- the repair of high value-added products in order to extend their useful life, without loss of performance.
