As a result of SUPSI's institutional accreditation process for the period 2021-2028, the Department was granted the right to call itself a pedagogical high school. Throughout Switzerland, institutions bearing this name have the task of training teachers for all grades of compulsory schooling and for upper secondary schools. The SUPSI Council has thus decided that the name 'University of Teacher Education' may be added to the Department's current name.

The integrated name is:

Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education

To which the acronym DFA/ASP corresponds, the new name will be applied in all official communication materials and administrative documents.
