April 11th, 2024
from 12.00 to 14.00
As of 2019, the teaching materials of the MaMa - Mathematics for Primary School project, developed in line with the Ticino Compulsory School Curriculum, are in production. In December 2023, material relating to the area of Geometry will be released.
The MaMa proposals are divided into materials for teachers (guidelines, contexts of meaning, teaching practices, games, problems, supports) and teaching sheets for pupils. Their peculiarity is that they are freely consultable, downloadable, groupable in collections, via the mama.edu.ti.ch platform, as well as modifiable by the teacher to adapt them to the different contexts and training needs of the students.
Parallel to the production of the materials, an initial investigation is being conducted into their use by teachers, which aims to analyse the different ways in which they are selected, combined, differentiated, used and evaluated, in order to investigate their impact on teachers' disciplinary and teaching skills.
