On the occasion of the 2026 Cantonal Anti-Racism Week, which will take place from 23 to 29 March, SUPSI is organising awareness-raising activities for the entire academic community and civil society, with the aim of preventing all forms of intolerance, discrimination and racist behaviour.
During Cantonal Anti-Racism Week 2026, the project “Beyond the gaze. Stories of work from racism to inclusion” will be carried out, during which the following initiatives will be offered:
- On Tuesday 24 March, from 5.45 p.m., there will be a screening of the documentary film ‘The Prodigious Transformation of the Working Class into Foreigners’ by Samir Jamal al Din. The screening will be followed by a round table discussion with Christian Marazzi, economist, and Dr Vega Tescari, lecturer at the Academy of Architecture and the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society at USI. To participate in the evening, which will take place in the Auditorium of the USI Main Building, West Campus, registration is required at the following link: https://usi.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5bwuqO4DZsJGIK2?Q_CHL=qr
- From 23 to 29 March, reading corners and a virtual notice board with various titles and literary proposals on the theme of racism will be available at the SUPSI and USI libraries.
The initiatives, organised by the SUPSI Gender and Diversity Service and the USI Equal Opportunities Service, in collaboration with the Human Rights Film Festival, reinforce SUPSI's commitment to making society more inclusive and free from discrimination of any kind.
The 2025 Cantonal Anti-Racism Week is coordinated by the Service for the Integration of Foreigners (SIS) and supported by the Canton of Ticino.
