Renewable energy, energy conservation and energy transition: these may seem like complicated concepts, but it is essential to understand them because they affect us all. Understanding energy also means becoming familiar with scientific concepts and technical applications, in order to better understand complex phenomena on the journey towards a more sustainable future.
The “EnergiaFuturo – WattAbout” project, run by the Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education (DFA/ASP) in collaboration with the Office for Environmental Education of the Dipartimento del territorio, RSI EDU, éducation21, TicinoEnergia, Aziende Industriali di Lugano (AIL) and Azienda Elettrica Ticinese (AET), is aimed in particular at young people aged between 12 and 18. Through engaging experiences such as quizzes, interactive games, videos and memes, it aims to stimulate curiosity and interest in learning about topics related to the vast world of energy.
The first result of the project is “Bacini e batterie” (Reservoirs and batteries), a kit that addresses the issue of energy storage – a fundamental ingredient in the magic that ensures that exactly the right amount of energy is fed into the grid at all times.
