Launched in 2022, the SCOHPICA - Health Professionals project aims to give a voice to health professionals working in Switzerland (irrespective of sector, place of work and employee or self-employed status) in order to combat the shortage of health personnel by identifying the main obstacles encountered in the exercise of their profession.
The project enjoys the support of numerous actors in the Swiss health system, including the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences, the Swiss Health Observatory, the Federal Office of Public Health, the Fondation pour l'Université de Lausanne and SUPSI, and currently has almost 6,000 health professionals.
Confirming the importance of this project, SCOHPICA was awarded the AllianzQ 2024 innovation prize and some of its data will be incorporated into the national care workforce monitoring system developed by July 2024 (Monitoring of care - Obsan).
With the aim of enlarging the cohort of study participants, the project team is looking for new participants who can not only share their experience, but above all join a public benefit project that will help formulate relevant and concrete recommendations, influence health policies and develop targeted interventions to improve the working conditions of health professionals in the Canton of Ticino and Switzerland.
