The Higher Education and Teacher Training service (SEDIFO) operates within SUPSI with the aim of promoting the quality of Undergraduate and graduate studies and the educational success of students. SEDIFO offers a diversified and up-to-date range of programmes and services, aimed at all SUPSI personnel with teaching positions, which aim to enhance and further increase the skills present within the Institution in the field of education and university didactic innovation.

SEDIFO is involved in various initiatives to enhance the value of teaching. In this section we present two of the most important initiatives, the Education Day, organised every two years as a moment of reflection and exchange on training and teaching innovation in the university environment, and the Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching, also held every two years, which rewards high quality teaching methods or programmes developed by SUPSI teachers.

Teaching qualification
SEDIFO offers three routes to obtaining the SUPSI teaching qualification:
- the CAS in university teaching, offered on an annual basis;
- recognition by equivalence of a university teaching qualification issued by another university or college;
- the preparation of a teaching portfolio that enhances the teaching skills acquired by the teacher over at least five years of professional practice.
