November 29th, 2023
from 19.00 to 20.30
Energy Management Education (EGE) is an evidence-based group or individual occupational therapy treatment conducted by a specially trained occupational therapist.
Energy Management Education was born in 2016 as part of a research project by SUPSI's 2rLab Rehabilitation Research Laboratory and Kliniken Valens in an inpatient setting for people with Multiple Sclerosis. Subsequently, the program was expanded to be used with people living with a chronic condition with the symptom fatigue indiscriminately of diagnosis, in both outpatient and inpatient settings. From 2019 to date, more than 300 occupational therapists from mainly Switzerland, but also from Austria, Germany, Italy and Luxembourg have been trained. EGE is an integral part of the treatment of people with fatigue in about 175 private practices and institutions in Switzerland. Following the COVID-19 pandemic and as a response to the need to take charge of people with Long-COVID, a total revision of EGE materials was made in 2022 based on new scientific findings.
