On Saturday, November 29, the Campus of the Department of Environment Constructions and Design SUPSI in Mendrisio enjoyed a day of celebration, not only for the graduates and their loved ones, but for the entire Department.
Two ceremonies were held to award diplomas to those who completed the Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (morning ceremony), and to those who completed the Bachelor of Arts in Conservation, the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication, and the Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture (afternoon ceremony). In addition, four graduates of the Master of Science in Engineering, Civil Engineering profile, were also celebrated (their diploma is awarded in a ceremony that brings together all Master of Engineering profiles of SUPSI’s Department of Innovative Technologies).
Future, courage, curiosity, enthusiasm, transformation, community, and social responsibility were recurring themes in the speeches of the General Director of SUPSI, Franco Gervasoni, the Director of the Department of Environment Constructions and Design, Jean-Pierre Candeloro, and the Graduate Studies Manager of the Department, Nicla Borioli Pozzorini.
Two Architecture graduates – Benedetta Raffa and Jacopo Fornera – and two Interior Architecture graduates – Valentina Hess and Alan Conti – shared thoughts and emotions with everyone, speaking of the differences that enriched them during their studies – because diversity makes the future more open, more sensitive, more human – and recalling relationships, ideas, and dreams developed over their three years of Bachelor studies.
SUPSI Alumni President Tiziana Brenna warmly welcomed all graduates into the association’s community.
During the ceremonies, numerous awards were given, reflecting the generosity, support, and affection of various institutions, associations, and companies toward SUPSI and its graduates.
The two ceremonies were hosted by Amanda Prada, Head of communications of the Department of Environment Constructions and Design SUPSI, with musical accompaniment by Lara Graça Lopes and Mattia Fogato, students of the University School of Music of the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana.
Congratulations to all graduates!
