On Wednesday 15 November from 5.30 p.m. there will be an evening event open to the public entitled "150° Past, present and future of teacher education in Ticino". The completely free programme includes workshops, exhibitions, screenings, meetings and installations to learn more about and discuss the history, present and future of teacher education in our Canton and beyond.
Another initiative to celebrate and remember the women, men and episodes that have determined this important part of the development of the Canton and SUPSI, is the digital exhibition "Becoming teachers for 150 years" . Starting from a multimedia timeline, it is possible to discover the main stages and protagonists of teacher training in the Canton, thanks to a wealth of references and historical documents, drawn in part from the fonds of the Library of the Department of Formation and Learning (DFA) and from those of the State Archives of Canton Ticino.
To complement this official history, the DFA/ASP has created the podcast "Tell your story" dedicated to the testimonies of people who have in various ways taken part in its history, and in some cases also in its present and future. Gathered on a voluntary basis, the testimonies do not aim at an exhaustive representation, but are life stories that give back episodes or fragments of personal experiences that developed in parallel with the major historical events.
Finally, to conclude the celebrations, on 24 November, the DFA/ASP History and Civics Teaching Area is organising an international study day dedicated to the history of teacher education.
