The growth of a child is closely linked to the world around him or her, which gradually expands from the family to the whole world. In this process, it is important that children feel in tune with the environment in which they live, i.e. that they understand its language, understand and share its values, and know its people, places, institutions and history.
A school that supports this journey must open up to the outside world, create synergies with local resources and provide pupils with concrete experiences that help to develop a sense of community and coexistence between different generations, active citizenship, respect for diversity and preservation of the Earth. Ultimately, this means considering pupils as individuals for whom learning acquires meaning when linked to their personal experience, which they can actively compare and share with others.
But what are the specific conditions, roles and spaces necessary for this type of education? What pedagogical and didactic strategies prepare students to commit to a cause? Experts from the world of education and research will explore and examine these issues during the webinar scheduled for October 14th.
Registration is open on the website https://education21.ch/it/giornata-ess/iscrizione until October 9th 2025.
