Anna Valente's appointment was recognised for her commitment to the Swiss scientific and economic ecosystem, in particular for her leadership of innovative projects in the field of industrial and production techniques.
All members are elected by secret ballot by those entitled to vote, under the direction of an electoral commission. The SATW now has 375 ordinary members and 9 honorary members.

The Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW) is Switzerland's leading network of experts in the field of engineering.
