Duties introduced and then withdrawn. Stock markets collapsing. Turbulent and convulsive contexts. And we limit ourselves to the chronicle of the last few weeks. Who could have predicted that the 2010s of the second millennium would turn out to be so fizzling, to use a bitter and ironic understatement.
The beats of the famous butterfly's wings seem to have become increasingly frequent, almost neurotic, directing the course of events along a bumpy path of hairpin turns, sudden changes of direction, potholes and bumps.
In such a picture, more than one company questions not only how to emerge unscathed from the stormy sea, but also, and more importantly, how to attempt to evolve in response to change.
One questions the workings and methods of, so to speak, traditional organizations, which in their rigidity drew strength in the past, like the breakwaters protecting ports from storm surges. A model that today feels the weight of time and is being overtaken by systems that are more flexible, agile and responsive to unforeseen events and why not also capable of anticipating them. Organizations are becoming adaptive by leveraging technologies on the market, artificial intelligence among them.
