The Bachelor's Degree Ceremony of SUPSI Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care was held on Monday 4 December at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano.
The ceremony opened with welcome speeches by SUPSI General Director Franco Gervasoni and DEASS Director Luca Crivelli, who emphasised the important milestone achieved by the students, who are ready to face the challenges of the world of work with the wealth of knowledge and skills acquired during their years of training at SUPSI. The General Director also highlighted the richness of the dissertations produced by the graduates, highlighting the heterogeneity of the contributions and their relevance in the respective fields of economics, health and social work.
The opening speeches concluded with a message from the DEASS Manager of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies Anna Piccaluga-Piatti, who highlighted the strength and determination shown by all the students to complete their studies, which for many began during the pandemic period.
The Ceremony continued with the awarding of diplomas to 269 students who completed the various Bachelor courses offered by DEASS: Bachelor Leisure Management (14 graduates), Bachelor Business Administration (66), Bachelor Social Work (64), Bachelor Nursing (91), Bachelor Ergotherapy (16) and Bachelor Physiotherapy (18).
The Ceremony concluded with the awarding of the TalenThesis Prizes to the Bachelor graduates from each degree course who have distinguished themselves for the excellent results obtained during their academic career and in their final thesis work. Established in 2011 to encourage and support recent graduates who are about to enter the world of work, the Prize is supported by five local organisations and companies (Associazione Industrie Ticinesi, Banca dello Stato del Cantone Ticino, Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale, Elettricità Svizzera italiana and Società svizzera impresari costruttori - Sezione Ticino), symbolising the close ties that exist between SUPSI and the various professional realities that welcome young men and women at the end of their studies.
Representing the institutions and companies supporting the award, Glauco Martinetti, General Director EOC, awarded the first TalenThesis to the following graduates:
• Chiara Bandoni: Bachelor Physiotherapy
• Agnese Chizzoni: Bachelor Nursing
• Francesca De Lorenzi: Bachelor Ergotherapy
• Shawn Petroboni: Bachelor Leisure Management
• Sara Pignoli: Bachelor Business Administration
• Arianna Lucia Vassere: Bachelor Social Work
To the total number of DEASS graduates should be added the 39 diplomas awarded in 2023 by the Bachelor in Physiotherapie students at the Landquart site.
Congratulations to all DEASS graduates on their achievement!
