SUPSI Image Focus
The short course for professional practice supervisors aims to train health professionals who supervise Bachelor's degree students in Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy during their internships at respective private facilities.
The criteria required to accept students in Bachelor's degree programs are as follows:
- at least one employee who, in addition to a diploma recognized by the SRC (Swiss Red Cross), also has specific teaching training or, alternatively, a commitment to complete this training within the next 12 months.
- a minimum of two practitioners (corresponding to at least 1.5 FTE – full-time equivalents);
- suitable premises and a quality management and treatment documentation system;
- membership of the professional association for the owner;
- willingness to take on students from different years of training.
The course lasts four days in person, plus two days of remote learning. If you decide to attend the CAS Clinical Tutor Role course in the future, you will be able to obtain equivalencies.
- welcome and accompany students on internships based on a high-quality educational relationship that promotes learning and the development of future professional identities;
- create and develop learning situations in different practical contexts in line with the training needs of the student and the provisions of the respective study plans;
- gain greater awareness of the various implications of the assessment process in education and training and take on board the practical operational implications required by the agreement with DEASS.
These skills are mobilized and developed over the course of the internship tutoring activity, as follows:
- before the start of the internship (preparation and welcome);
- during the internship (analysis of training needs, teaching planning during the internship, reinforcement and formative assessment, concluding with a summative assessment);
- after the internship (meta-reflection, review, prospects for development).
The topic of the pedagogical relationship is addressed and explored in detail in the specific aspects of the three phases of the internship (before, during, and after).
Specific objectives are defined for each topic, and participants are provided with a targeted bibliography for further reading.
