Held annually, the Impact conference has become one of Europe’s premier platforms for high-level dialogue on the future of the economy and society. Bringing together influential policymakers, industry leaders, and academic experts, the event serves as a strategic meeting point to explore the technologies and trends shaping tomorrow.

Impact’25 focused on cutting-edge themes such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, digital health, smart mobility, urban innovation, and Industry 5.0—offering an open space for cross-sector conversations on global transformation.

Professor Rizzoli represented Switzerland at the Swiss House Pavilion, alongside Professors Thomas H. Zurbuchen and Hubert Klumpner from ETH Zurich. Recognized as a global leader in innovation, Switzerland was selected as the first official partner country in the history of the conference, now celebrating its tenth edition. This symbolic milestone highlights the Confederation’s pivotal role as a trusted contributor to international dialogue on science, technology, sustainability, and entrepreneurial development.
 

Education and AI: SUPSI Joins the European Consortium EUonAIR

During the event, Professor Andrea Rizzoli took part in the panel discussion The Impact of Generative AI: What Does It Really Bring to the Table?, a roundtable dedicated to exploring the implications of generative artificial intelligence.

Among the key topics highlighted was the presentation of EUonAIR (European University on AI in Curricula, Smart UniverCity and (Return) Mobility), an initiative funded by the European Commission that brings together ten academic partners, including SUPSI.

The project aims to redefine higher education by promoting the integration of AI grounded in ethical and responsible principles. Its broader objective is to strengthen collaboration among universities and foster the development of a shared digital culture across Europe.
