SUPSI Image Focus
After a Bachelor's degree at SUPSI's Department of Education and Learning / University of Teacher Education (DFA/ASP) to become an elementary school teacher, Luca decided to pursue a Master's degree in Specialised Pedagogy and Inclusive Didactics. He recently completed his training by attending a CAS that now allows him to serve as a Professional Practice Teacher.
What aspects of the training have been most useful for your profession?
Certainly courses related to communication and relationship management between two adults, where one is in training and the other acts as a mentor. It is in fact not always easy to establish a dialogue in which both figures can express their respective needs and expectations of the other, since the trainer also has the function of evaluating the trainee among his or her tasks.
What expectations do you find most from the teachers you accompany during training?
That of thinking that I can handle any kind of situation in or out of the classroom: in reality, in my view, we can all make mistakes and, above all, still learn, regardless of the years of experience accumulated.
What advice would you give to someone considering embarking on a path like yours?
Carrying out a CAS to train young adults is certainly a challenge full of unknowns, but a very enriching one.
