Voxxed Days Ticino is a one-of-a-kind technology event aimed at developer communities. Born as a spin-off of Devoxx and now present worldwide, Voxxed Days are educational events organised by programmers to bring together, under one roof, internationally and locally renowned speakers, leading companies in the sector, and software engineers eager to expand their knowledge, refine their skills, exchange ideas, and draw inspiration.
The event, which is the first on the 2025 calendar, is co-organised by SUPSI’s Institute for Information Systems and Networking, the Faculty of Informatics of USI, and Exteso. The year 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Voxxed Days Ticino, which once again will take place at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano on Friday, 17 January 2025. The programme features a rich lineup of presentations by national and international speakers, addressing an audience of hundreds of developers, companies, and sponsors from Ticino, Switzerland, and Northern Italy.
As per tradition, the talks will provide an up-to-date and in-depth overview of the major innovations in the software development sector, with a focus on topics such as Architecture, Java, Blockchain, Build & Deploy, People & Culture, Data & AI, Security, Development Practices, Web, and UI/UX.
Speakers at the tenth edition include: Sergi Almar, Yingkun Bai, Nikhil Barthwal, Luca Caputo, Matteo Codogno, Roberto Cortez, Giovanni Degiorgi, Mattia Dell’Oca, Kevin Dubois, Mario Fusco, Viktor Gamov, Daniel Garnier-Moiroux, Michele Giacobazzi, Grace Jansen, Stephan Janssen, Vadym Kazulkin, François Martin, Francesco Nigro, Grzegorz Piwowarek, Andrea Rubino, Ixchel Ruiz, Baruch Sadogursky, Carlos Sanchez, Cristian Schuszter, Luca Vajani, Maarten Vandeperre, Christian Woerz, Pawel Zajaczkowski, Daniele Zonca, and Paco van Beckhoven.
The event is also preceded by three workshops, which will take place on Thursday, 16 January 2025, at the USI–SUPSI Campus Est. With limited places available, the workshops offer a unique opportunity to fully immerse oneself in the Voxxed world to learn, develop, and share knowledge with industry experts.
“Voxxed Days Ticino has established itself as a unique technology event aimed at a highly skilled and well-prepared developer audience,” comments Federico Yankelevich, organiser of Voxxed Days since its first edition. “The Ticino edition of Voxxed Days is the first on the calendar together with the CERN edition in Geneva, organised back-to-back. We are pleased to have the support of USI and SUPSI as co-organisers. One of the key ingredients of Voxxed’s success lies precisely in the quality of the topics and the excellence of the speakers who take the stage throughout the day.”
Tiziano Leidi, Program Committee Chair of Voxxed Days Ticino and Director of SUPSI’s Institute for Information Systems and Networking, expressed great satisfaction with the programme of the 2025 edition, which coincides with a special occasion: “This year we celebrate 30 years of Java, a fundamental milestone for a language that has shaped the history of software development. We want Voxxed Days Ticino 2025 to be not just an event, but a reference point for our developers, in a year that celebrates the past while looking enthusiastically toward the future.” Leidi also highlighted the importance of the programme’s variety and innovation: “2025 marks a new step forward for Voxxed Days Ticino, with a selection of original content reflecting emerging trends in information technology, for example in the field of generative AI.” He concludes: “For SUPSI, Voxxed Days Ticino represents an important opportunity to strengthen its role as a bridge between the academic and professional worlds, fostering knowledge exchange and technological innovation. For this reason, being a co-organiser of such a significant event is a strategic and natural choice for us.”
“We are enthusiastic about actively contributing to the organisation of an event of great importance for the developer community. At the Faculty of Informatics of USI, our commitment focuses both on educating highly qualified future professionals and on developing cutting-edge research projects, with the aim of promoting technology transfer for the benefit of local companies in key areas of computer science research such as software engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence. In addition, we actively collaborate with local companies, offering them access to the results of our world-class research projects, capable of pushing the boundaries of technological innovation. In this context, initiatives such as Voxxed Days Ticino play a crucial role in creating synergies between innovative companies, software engineers, and academic groups. We are pleased to work alongside SUPSI and Exteso to manage and make this event unique, as it represents an extraordinary platform for the exchange of ideas and shared innovation!” says Marc Langheinrich, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics at USI.
Special thanks go to all sponsors. The event is held under the patronage of the City of Lugano.
