Special Awards: Best Bachelor’s and Master’s Theses Recognized

The Nizzola Foundation aims to promote academic excellence among Ticino students in technical Master’s programs at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) and at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) by awarding scholarships and prizes to the best students, thereby contributing to the excellence of future industrial leaders in Ticino and Switzerland.
The awards, presented by Hon. Norman Gobbi, President of the Foundation, in the presence of Luca Nizzola, Anna Nizzola, and Fabienne Bonzanigo, Vice President, member, and treasurer of the Foundation, were given to:
- Jonathan Jemini – 1st prize, Master of Science in Engineering with specialization profile in Mechanical Engineering
"Fatigue Life Analysis and Optimization of Deflector Supports on Railway Vehicles".
- Marco De Piaz – 2nd prize, Master of Science in Engineering with specialization profile in Energy & Environament
"Numerical investigation of a membrane reactor concept for enhanced green methanol synthesis".
- John Steel – 3rd prize, Master of Science in Engineering with specialization profile in Electrical Engineering
"Innovative power optimizer for hotspot prevention".

This recognition, aimed at encouraging and supporting recent graduates as they prepare to enter the professional world, is supported by AITI (Associazione Industrie Ticinesi), the leading cantonal association bringing together companies from various industrial sectors. Its mission is to represent and safeguard the interests of the production system, promote the values of entrepreneurial freedom, support industrial development in Ticino and Grisons, and foster dialogue between companies and institutions.
The award, presented by Stefano Modenini, AITI Director, was given to:

- Eric Melloni, Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering
