From 26th-28th June 2024, the 7th "European Region Sigma Conference' was held in England at Bournemouth University, attended by 280 delegates from 28 countries.
The conference entitled 'Promoting Global Nursing: Education, Research and Practice to meet tomorrow's health and care needs' provided an opportunity to share and discuss research, education and clinical practice projects, creating an international network for possible future collaborations and exchanges between different academic and professional realities.
During the conference, Prof. Monica Bianchi, Head of the SUPSI Master of Science in Nursing, received the European Education Award. This prestigious award was conferred for her activities in connection with the implementation and running of the Master of Science in Nursing in the Canton of Ticino, for the introduction of innovative pedagogical methods into the Master course, and for her mentorship activity towards the students. Through mentoring, supervision and support, he ensured that students achieved excellent results in their studies and actively participated in various national and international congresses with oral and poster presentations.
Sigma is an international nursing organisation founded in 1922, with over 100,000 members and 600 chapters worldwide, which aims to promote health worldwide and to recognise and celebrate nursing excellence in knowledge, leadership and role.
