The series of events proposed was co-created with a number of students from different educational backgrounds. But that's not all: thanks to a class of Bachelor of Science in Leisure Management students, the event was rebranded, resulting in the new name Re-Week.
As part of the Sprint Project module, a group of students proposed a new concept to make the initiatives more attractive. During Re Week, events will be organized by theme, represented graphically by spheres that refer to the different dimensions of sustainability:
- rethink (economic dimension) - Rethinking economic and consumption models in a fair, innovative, and responsible way to generate lasting value;
- relate (social dimension) - Sustainability starts with people: building bonds, fostering inclusion, promoting supportive and collaborative communities;
- renew (environmental dimension) - Regenerating our relationship with the environment: respecting natural resources, reducing waste, and imagining a greener future.
The varied activities on offer will take place from Monday to Friday in two time slots, one at midday and one in the late afternoon. For example, they range from exploring the link between soft skills and sustainability, to regenerating body and mind through yoga and/or relaxation techniques for mental and physical well-being, to reflecting on how to combat stereotypes and prejudices with a playful approach, or even exploring opportunities for sustainable business. To name but a few.
As a further new feature of this edition, there will also be two initiatives running throughout the week: an upcycling exhibition at the DACD Materioteca in Mendrisio and a SUPSI Sustainability Quest, which will see QR codes distributed across all campuses, with the winner receiving a public transport voucher worth CHF 300. - offered by the Arcobaleno fare network.
Last but not least, on Thursday, March 12, the award ceremony for the best SUPSI Bachelor's theses in the field of sustainability will be open to the public, followed by the theatrical performance “DiversoDaChi?” by Emanuele Santoro, which aims to reflect on the specificities of people with cognitive diversity and the meaning of the noun diversity. The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Foyer (Block A, PT) of the USI-SUPSI East Campus in Lugano-Viganello.
The complete Re-Week program, as well as the registration form, are available on this page.
An excellent opportunity for all participants to rethink, relate, and renew!
