The 18th edition of Iride, a magazine focusing on economics, healthcare, and social issues, was published in May and is dedicated to the topic of mental health and well-being.

The diverse contributions offer intriguing and profound reflections on mental health and the treatment of related disorders, drawing on relevant research projects, training experiences, and professional practices. The link between mental health and happiness is the theme of interest for the Swiss Public Health Congress, which will be held for the first time in Ticino on September 10 and 11, thanks to the collaboration between SUPSI and USI.

The publication is enriched by an interview on the topic of brain health with Professor Claudio Bassetti and articles by Dr. Zefiro Mellacqua on the clinical and research frontiers of psychedelic-assisted therapy, Professor Fabrizio Mazzonna on the overuse of psychotropic drugs in Switzerland, and by Mauro Durini and Valentino Garrafa of the Club '74 association of the OSC on the joint project with DEASS in the field of training on the theme of mental suffering.

The magazine also includes seven other articles by professors, lecturers, and researchers from DEASS addressing various issues related to mental health and well-being from their respective areas of research and expertise.

Starting with this issue, Iride is a fully open access journal, distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
