The collaboration between SUPSI and UBS continues within the framework of the agreement, first signed in 2018 and recently renewed, which supports joint research and innovation activities in the field of artificial intelligence applied to banking services.

This partnership also led to the creation of the UBS-IDSIA AI Lab, a center of excellence that combines the Institute’s scientific expertise with UBS’s leadership in the financial sector.

Within the lab, systems are developed to enhance decision-making processes, strengthen risk management, and increase operational efficiency. “The synergy between academia and industry is essential to transform ideas into high value-added solutions. The joint work therefore focuses on AI applications that are truly implementable and capable of generating measurable benefits,” comments Prof. Andrea Rizzoli, Director of the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA USI-SUPSI).
