In fact, the achievement of sustainability objectives at territorial level cannot disregard the active contribution and collaboration of businesses. In turn, companies, in defining their activities and objectives, can take into account the social and environmental problems of the areas in which they operate, creating a virtuous collaboration with the public administration.

As specific objectives, the project aimed at aligning corporate sustainability actions with specific regional policies; transforming sustainability into a factor of corporate and territorial competitiveness; providing companies with tools for implementing sustainability.

The expected result was to develop a shared culture on the subject of sustainability that would encourage the emergence of projects to solve regional social and environmental problems. Innovativeness and originality were guaranteed by the activation of shared sustainability projects between companies and administrations, and the development of a crossborder dialogue on corporate sustainability policies. All this was done through a systemic approach to sustainability, comparing the good practices of two regions with common characteristics but different perspectives.

At the end of the project, the region benefited from greater resilience of the business fabric, less vulnerability of environmental and social assets, and greater attractiveness and competitiveness.
