Overview - IM

The Institute carries out research projects in the fields of biosafety, pathogen vector biology, environmental microbiology, ecology, and the identification and typing of microorganisms, using classical microbiology, ecology, molecular biology, and proteomics methods. It is equipped with BSL1, BSL2, and BSL3 laboratories, enabling the analysis of highly pathogenic agents.

The Institute is at the forefront of both basic and applied research, with projects funded by national and international competitive grants and other sources.
