Thanks to the mountain passes in the canton of Graubünden, relations between the northern and southern regions have always been very important, despite the language barrier. In order to keep these relations alive in the future, San Bernardino Lab was created, a living laboratory that serves as a competence centre on sustainability issues.
It includes SUPSI, the Graubünden University of Teacher Education and the Graubünden University of Applied Sciences as scientific partners, together with the paradisea association and the municipalities of Mesocco, Rheinwald, Soazza and Sufers.
People, companies, public and private institutions in Rheinwald and Upper Mesolcina will be able to benefit from scientific advice and support in designing sustainable solutions for the living and economic area south and north of the San Bernardino Pass in a participatory and cooperative manner. The focus of San Bernardino Lab is on the exchange of ideas and opinions with the population of the region, which is supported and strengthened through events and training courses.
