Certification Service
The SUPSI Certification Service operates in Switzerland and is responsible for the certification of management systems, mainly for the eduQua standard, at institutions and further education institutions.
The SUPSI Certification Service (SCS) carries out certification audits, ensuring neutrality and independence. The SCS is integrated within the SUPSI Quality Service.
Public and public schools active in continuing education turn to the SUPSI Certification Service for certification audits according to the eduQua standard.
eduQua is the Swiss quality label for further education institutions. It promotes transparency, comparability and quality of further education offers. There are more than 1,000 eduQua-certified schools, training institutions and academies throughout Switzerland. Certification not only improves credibility vis-à-vis customers, but is also an advantage vis-à-vis the authorities. In many cantons, eduQua certification is a prerequisite for receiving public funding.
At the end of 2021, the Swiss Federation for Continuing Education FSEA, as the holder, put the revised eduQua:2021 standard into force. At the same time, the transition period from eduQua:2012 to the new standard started, which will last until June 2025.
The list of schools certified by the SCS is published on the FSEA website.
Since 2016, the SUPSI Certification Service has been accredited by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS), in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1. Accreditation enables the SAS in particular to guarantee certification activities that comply with the criteria defined by the reference standard. The list of accredited certification bodies is published by the SAS.
The SCS has two Certification Commissions to ensure impartiality and fairness in the decision-making process concerning the issuing of certificates.
In addition to the eduQua standard, the SCS also certifies Quality Management Systems according to ISO 9001 and Directive 3 of the Department of Health and Social Affairs (DSS) of the Canton of Ticino for institutions for the disabled.
The service also provides training activities within the scope of its competences.
