On October 23 and 24, the Palacongressi in Rimini hosted Z!ng – Zone of Innovation & Growth, the annual event organized by Var Group that brings together companies, professionals, and young talents to reflect on how to integrate different forms of intelligence — human, artificial, collective, and organizational — to drive digital transformation.
Within this context, the tenth Var Group hackathon also took place, a marathon of creativity and technology that brought together teams of students and young professionals to tackle challenges proposed by leading companies. Each team was paired with one of the event’s partner organizations and asked to solve a real business case, developing solutions that were innovative, scalable, and ready for real-world implementation.
The challenge assigned to the SUPSI team, proposed by Italo Treno, invited participants to design a solution that could make corporate training more engaging by transforming mandatory employee courses into interactive, personalized, and AI-driven learning experiences.
The group, consisting of Antonio Marroffino (Bachelor in Computer Engineering), Manuele Nolli, Martina Galasso, Francisco Viola, and Luca Fantò (Master of Science in Engineering – Computer Science), combined diverse skills and a strong sense of teamwork to approach the task with creativity and advanced technical expertise. In just 48 hours, they developed an innovative platform that integrates gamification, realistic scenarios, and personalized challenges, turning corporate learning from an obligation into an opportunity for continuous growth. Their proposal earned them first place in the competition.
“Guiding this group was a great source of pride for me. Seeing them compete with teams from other universities, collaborate with enthusiasm, and present innovative solutions to a real-world challenge proves that when solid technical skills meet a genuine desire to take on new experiences, they can truly make a difference”, Giuliano Gremlich, ISIN Researcher and Team Coordinator
