Scanning electronic microscopy service
The MEMTi institute offers an EDX microscopic and spectroscopic analysis service that is also carried out alongside the customer.
Originating around the middle of the 20th century, scanning electron microscope (SEM) technology is based on the interaction between an electron beam focused on the sample and the electrons in the atoms of the sample itself.
The SEM microscope, combined with EDX spectroscopy, has for many years been a benchmark for scientific research in various fields, as it is able to provide important information that is difficult to obtain with other investigation techniques (e.g. optical microscopy).
There are numerous application areas, including research and development, quality control of processes and products, measurement of contaminants, etc.
Since 2014, the Institute has been equipped with a JEOL 6010-LA SEM (including EDX analyser), which is used both for research activities and as a service for local companies and institutions.
